Increase Citizen Safety and Empower Youth: Emergency Medical Service for Juarez, Mexico Project
Three day intensive training program on International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) for sixteen civilian volunteers from Juarez, Mexico ages 16-32. The training was provide in collaboration with Alvin Community College, Alamo Colleges, South Hays County Fire Department, Projecto Aganar, Mission Inc. Juarez Chapter of Mexico Partners of the Americas and Texas Partners of the Americas. Participants became certified in ITLS.
Prepa-UDEM: Introduction to Volunteerism and Servant Leadership
Prepa UDEM was looking for some volunteer experience and training for their students who are interested in working with children with who are chronically ill. Six students from Prepa-UDEM visited San Antonio and visited non-profit organizations in the city that provide workshops on volunteerism and the opportunity to volunteer with their organizations. Student also visited local high schools and had an opportunity to participate in local homestay with families of peer high school students.
